Adding Wriddle to Canvas

Wriddle can be added as an external tool in Canvas.

This page has instructions for: Creating a Wriddle developer key, adding a Wriddle app, and how to add Wriddle as an item in a course module.

This page describes using Wriddle with Canvas and LTI 1.3 and requires admiistrator access to Canvas and a Wriddle School or District account. If you have a Wriddle Classroom Premium account, or if you are not able to set up Wriddle at the Canvas Administrator level, you can also use Wriddle as an external tool at the course level using LTI 1.1. You can find those instructions here.


Administrators - Creating a Wriddle Developer Key

You must have access to both the Wriddle administrator account and the Canvas administrator account to complete this set up.

In Wriddle

Log in to your Wriddle administrator account.

Click Accounts

Click the LTI 1.3 check box

Click the LTI Registration Data button

Click the Copy JSON button

In Canvas

Click Admin

Click your organization

Click Developer Keys

Click +Developer Key

Click +LTI Key

Click the Method pull-down menu and choose Paste JSON

Click in the LTI 1.3 Configuration field and paste the copied JSON information

In the Key Name field, enter "Wriddle"

In the Redirect URIs field, edit the url to "https://[YOUR DOMAIN].wriddle.com/lti13"

Wriddle supports placements in Link Selection, Homework Submission, Assignment Selection, and Course Navigation.

Click Save

At the Developer Keys page, copy the Wriddle Client ID into a text document.

In Wriddle

Click the Configuration pull-down menu and select Canvas

Click the Client ID field and paste the copied Client ID


Administrators - Adding Wriddle as an App

In Canvas, click Admin.

Click Settings

Click Apps

Click View App Configurations

Click +App

Click the Configuration Type pull-down menu and choose Client ID

Paste the Wriddle Developer Key into the Client ID field

Click the Submit button


Instructor - Adding Wriddle to a Module

Open your course and click Modules.

Click the plus button to add an item to the module.

From the Add pull down menu, select External Tool.

Click on the Wriddle option.

Click the Load in a new tab check box.

Click the Add Item button.

When students click the Wriddle item in the module it will open Wriddle in a new tab.
